James H. Galloway
James H. Galloway ( M'62, SM'87) received his undergraduate education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and has over 30 years experience in the areas of product development, power electronics, power systems, motor drives, microcomputer control systems, and industrial electronic design. He has operated the consulting firm of J. H. Galloway & Associates since 1987.

He has held the positions of Director of Engineering at Rapid Power Technologies, a leading manufacturer of power conversion and power conditioning equipment, and Manager of Electrical Engineering at Energy Development Associates, a Gulf and Western research and development company pursuing high energy battery research. Prior to that he was Manager of Research and Development at Oxy Metal Industries, formerly the Udylite Co., a leading supplier of equipment to the metal finishing and electrochemical industries, and Applications Engineer with General Electric Co. Semiconductor Products Department. Major projects have spanned the range from custom integrated circuit design, to electric vehicle systems design, to multi MegaWatt power conversion systems.

He is the holder of 15 U.S. patents, the author of several technical papers and articles, and co-author of the GE SCR Manual. He is a senior member of the IEEE,past chairman of the IAS Industrial Power Converter Committee, member of the subcommittee on IEEE 519 and past chairman of the subcommittee on ANSI C34.2.
